[Song] O Worship the King / Psalm 104.31-35

O worship the King, all glorious above,
and gratefully sing his wonderful love.
Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
pavilion’d in splendor and girded with praise.

O tell of his might, O sing of his grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space.
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is his path on the wings of the storm.

Forever O may the Lord’s glory stand!
The Lord shall enjoy each work of his hand.
He looks on the earth and it trembles in fear;
when he touches mountains, the smoke will appear.

Iell sing to the Lord as long as I live,
sing praise to my God while life he will give.
My thoughts about him will sweet pleasure afford.
For I am rejoicing each day in the Lord.

Consumed from the earth let sinners then be;
the wicked in life no more let us see.
And now, O my soul, blessing give to the Lord.
Let glad hallelujahs ring; O praise the Lord!

[Song] Worship the King (Psalm 47.6)

[Chorus:] Worship the King, the One who died to free us,
the One who conquered death in victory.
Worship the king, the One who lives forever,
he shall reign throughout eternity.

Darkness and gloom filled the earth, Satan was celebrating victory;
Jesus arose, he is alive, no grave could hold
the King of kings and the Lord of lords. [Chorus]

Then every tongue shall confess, “He is the Christ, yes, he is the Lord”;
Jesus arose, he is alive, no grave could hold
the King of kings and the Lord of lords. [Chorus 2x]

He shall reign throughout eternity. He shall reign throughout eternity, He shall reign throughout eternity .

Prayer of Adoration [Men of the congregation are asked to lead this prayer.]

Consecration & Confessing Sins — 2 Chronicles 30:14-17

Reading of the Law & Confession of Sin

[Leader] Hear the perfect law of God: “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body”¦ the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell”¦ But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.” (James 3:1-2,5-6)

[All] “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.” (Is. 6:5)

[Leader] “Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said; “˜Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.e” (Is. 6:6-7)

Time of Silent Confession

Prayer of Confession [Men of the congregation are asked to lead this prayer.]

Celebrating the Gift of Forgiveness & Healing
2Chronicles 30:18-20

Reading of the Gospel

[Leader] “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, so the LORD pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust” (Psalm 103:11-14)

[All] Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.” (Rom. 4:7)

[Leader] Does God ever abandon His children in their sin?

[All] No. “God, who is rich in mercy, according to His unchangeable purpose of election, does not wholly withdraw the Holy Spirit from His own people, even in their melancholy falls; nor suffers them to proceed so far as to lose the grace of adoption, and forfeit the state of justification, or to commit the sin unto death; nor does He permit them to be totally deserted, and to plunge themselves into everlasting destruction.” (Canons of Dort 5:6, 1619)

[Song] The Lord’s My Shepherd (Psalm 23)

All: The Lordes my Shepherd, Iell not want; he makes me lie in pastures green.
He leads me by the still, still waters, his goodness restores my soul.

Men: He guides my ways in righteousness;

Women: guides my ways for his own namees sake;

Men: and he anoints my head with oil;

Women: you anoint my head with oil;

All: and my cup, it overflows with joy, I feast on his pure delights.

Men: And though I walk the darkest path,

Women: though I walk through the valley, Lord,

Men: I will not fear the evil one,

Women: of the shadow of death, be near,

All: for you are with me, and your rod and staff
are the comfort I need to know.

Men: And I will dwell within your house.

Women: set a table before me Lord,

Men: Yes, all the days of my life.

Women: in the presence of all my foes

All: For your endless mercy follows me, your goodness will lead me home.
Forever Iell trust you, Lord.

Cutting Covenant in Communion — 2Chronicles 30:21a

Communion Meditation [An elder usually delivers this mini-sermon.]

Christes Institution of the Ceremony

Prayer of Dedication

Receiving of the Bread and Wine by Covenant Families

[We partake of communion by families, so a representative of the family, usually the head of the household, is welcome to go forward to receive sufficient bread and wine and administer it to their family. We welcome believers who are members in good standing of a Bible-believing, evangelical church.]

Rejoicing in His Grace — 2 Chronicles 30:21

Prayer of Thanksgiving [Men of the congregation are asked to lead this prayer.]

[Song] Sing To God

[Chorus:] Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds;
clap your hands and shout with joy to the God of all creation. [Repeat]

God has made the heavens and the earth, by his power and by his spoken word;
and you and I were made in the image of the Father, to reflect the glory of his Son.

[Chorus]

God so loved the world that he had made, that he sent his only Son to save;
and all who would believe would receive his gifts of mercy and power,
to become the sons of God. [Chorus]

Freely youeve received, now freely give, speak the word that others, too, might live;
O the harvest fields are white and the Lord our God commands us,
go and tell the news to all the earth.

Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds;
clap your hands and shout with joy to the God of every nation.

Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds;
clap your hands and shout with joy to the God of every nation,

to the God of every nation.

[Song] Shout For Joy (Psalm 98.1-6)

Oh, sing to the Lord a new song, marvelous things he has done before us.
His right hand and his holy arm have gained him the victory.
For the Lord has made his salvation known,
and his righteousness to the nations shown
and remembered mercy and truth to Israeles house.

Women: Let the rivers clap as they roll along,
let the mountains burst into joyful song,
let the people shout as they celebrate and praise.

Men: Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna to the Lord.

All: Shout for joy to the Lord all the earth, burst into jubilant song together;
make music to the Lord all the earth, let creation respond with singing.
Let the sea resound, let the world rejoice,
let the trumpet blast with a mighty voice,
let the people dance as they celebrate and praise.

Women: Let the rivers clap as they roll along,
let the mountains burst into joyful song,
let the people shout as they celebrate and praise.

Men: Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna to the Lord.

All: For the Lord is coming to judge the earth.
And with righteousness he shall judge the world,
and the peoples he shall judge with equity.

[Song] Great and Marvelous are Your Works

Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways, King of the Ages.

Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are Holy. All nations will come and worship before you,

for your righteous acts have been revealed.

(2x) Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. [Repeat All]

Covenant Preaching — 2Chronicles 30:22-26

Scripture Reading: Matthew 20.29-34

Prayer for the Preaching and Hearing of Godes Word

Teaching Sermon: How to Say “I Love You” Without Words [One of the elders usually teaches the sermon. Visiting pastors or missionaries do so as well.]

Prayer for Godes Blessing on the Word Preached

[Song] Though I May Speak with Bravest Fire

Though I may speak with bravest fire, and have the gift to all inspire,
And have not love, my words are vain, as sounding brass, and hopeless gain.

Though I may give all I possess, and striving so my love profess,
But not be given by love within, the profit soon turns strangely thin.

Come, Spirit, come, our hearts control, our spirits long to be made whole.
Let inward love guide every deed; by this we worship and are freed.
