Not Because of Your Righteousness (Deuteronomy 9:1-6)

Phillip Kayser, PhD, July 26, 2026
Part of the Deuteronomy series, preached at a Sermon service

This passage holds together the tension between God's sovereignty and our responsibility — He is the one who brings the enemy down, yet we are called to drive them out. Both judgment and promise unfold according to God's appointed time, not our own timetable. And even after the victory, an enemy remains within us throughout our entire lives, requiring ongoing vigilance and dependence on Him.
