Do Not Bar Yourself (Matthew 5:23-24)

Phillip Kayser, PhD, May 29, 2011
Part of the Unsorted Sermons series, preached at a Communion Meditation service

Some Christians have routinely barred themselves and/or their children from the Lord’s Table because of sin. Though Matthew 5:23-24 is frequently cited as the foundation for such behavior, we will see that this passage teaches the exact opposite. This communion meditation clarifies such issues as partaking worthily, church and family jurisdictions, discipline, self-examination, and the relationship of grace and works to the Lord’s Table.
